Music is a part of our everyday lives; simply, it is a part of human nature. This is manifested by how people cater to music artists, how we fawn over the latest songs that we feel we can relate to, and how humming to the tune of our song inclination is a common sight. Indeed, music is everywhere, even before technology allowed us to make music faster and to reach people with more speed. Its prevalence today is perhaps the same as its prevalence in the past, in the sense of its pervasiveness amongst people.
When we feel happy, when we feel sad, when we feel lonely, when we feel angry, there is a kind of music, a kind of tone, a kind of song that will fit whatever we are feeling, what with the number of musical compositions we have been exposed to since our birth. Music is a creation, a production. If food needs ingredients to come to life, then musics ingredients lie in the musical instruments that bring it to life.
They say music is a universal language, because it does not matter if one can not understand he music; the flow of music may very well be enough. Almost every country, and all countries I know of, produces music. This music may serve to cater to people in that country only, or to serve a more international purpose. However it is aimed to do, the music from one country can always be heard by a person from another country if he wishes to. This is why music and musical instruments is universal, and why it is interesting to know the extent of its universality.

What are musical instruments?
These are those that give off sound, and thus generate music. It is made to generate music by the one holding or owning it, such as the musician or the player making use of it. Music encompasses the globe, and so do these types of instruments, for they pave way to the production of music. There are various kinds of musical instruments to suit ones purpose of a sound effect, and these include string instruments, wind instruments, percussion instruments, electronic instruments and friction instruments.China’s popular musical instruments
Almost every country has its own preference for music and thus for musical instruments, and China is no different. The musical instruments that are traditionally popular in China are made of materials that include stone, silk, gourd, metal, bamboo and wood. Wind and string instruments are very popular in China. An example of the latter is what they call an Erhu, which is a string instruments that is described as a two-stringed fiddle. An example of the latter is called the Dizi, which is a simple wind instrument made of bamboo. In Africa, these are used to create music that has ritualistic value to them. They are used to create music for social and ceremonial functions. Percussion instruments and drums are considered to be the most popular types of musical instruments in Africa. Specifically, one of the most popular musical instruments in Africa is called the Mbira, a thumb piano that can be used in different ways by different cultures in Africa to serve a variety of purposes.You may not have played a musical instrument in your life, nor be interested in doing so, but I am sure you have heard music being played and appreciated it. Jazz music was born in USA in 1868. However, today, jazz no longer belongs to the American people. Jazz has become one of the musical colors that are owned by the entire world community.
In the beginning, jazz was born with Blues basic. Then, in 1987, people began to know RAG Time, which at that time in the form of piano playing in bars. RAG Time and Blues developed into a boogie – woogie. Then, the forms not only reached in their lane, but also developed through a jazz journey.
The researchers of music state that the form of jazz music that can be regarded as an early form that evolved over time to the form of the current jazz is a form of jazz around 1915 to 1917. At that time, the Negro in New Orleans played jazz music with a distinctive style, and the music became known as New Orleans jazz.
New Orleans jazz musicians presented their performances in bars, gambling houses, and even places of prostitution which in those days was flourishing in New Orleans. In 1917, almost all places of entertainment in New Orleans were closed because they were considered to reduce public concern against the government and to increase criminal activities. Then, Jazz grew out of the city of New Orleans.
Jazz musicians from New Orleans began to bring jazz music through the Mississippi River. The spread of jazz continued to the north until it came in Detroit. In the 1920s, jazz has evolved in New York, Chicago, Memphis and major cities in the United States.

Beale Street in Memphis, Tennessee has always been home to the Memphis musicians who sing the Blues. The Blues is a style of music that grew from the songs that African Americans would sing while they worked out in the fields. For more than 50 years, Memphis musicians have been playing on the corners and in the clubs on Beale Street. Eventually, however, beginning in the 1960s, Beale Street lost its Sparkle, became run down and in very poor shape, and people left to have a better life somewhere else.
In the 1980s, however, local lawmakers began to take note and direct their attentions to the run down historic home of Memphis musicians, and renovation then came to Beale Street. With a new Beale Street came new businesses, new people, and new Memphis musicians. Today, more than four million people a year come to visit Beale Street to experience the incredible sound of the Best of the best Memphis musicians. Beale Street is home to many clubs and venues where Memphis musicians record and play, and is also home to many music festivals every year that draw crowds from all over the world.
The Beale Street Music Festival is an annual event that kicks of a month long celebration of Memphis musicians in the city. The festival first debuted in 1976, and every year since has progressively grown more popular. Memphis musicians as well as area and long distance musicians gather to not only to perform, but to enjoy each others work as well. Famous musicians from all genres come to the festival as well, often performing side by side with the little known locals.
The Beale Street Music Festival itself lasts for three days, usually at the end of April or early May. Even though Tennessee regulations state that businesses must close at 3 a.m., Beale Street enjoys a state exemption that allows the clubs and venues to stay open until 5 a.m., and the tourists hang out listening to the Memphis musicians right up until then.
Beale Street had originally been named Beale Avenue, but in 1916, W.C. Handy wrote a song called Beale Street Blues which was the motivation to change the name in that year. When someone is about to make a life decision, he does not just rush into it like it was a decision whether to have cereal or waffles for breakfast. If you are in the middle of choosing which instrument to learn to play for either yourself or your child, you are more than likely to visit more than one musical instrument store. There are also a few decisions you need to make about which kind of instrument fits your style.
There are also many levels of difficulty depending on the instrument as well. If you are having a little bit of trouble with hearing the notes exactly, it might be a good idea to try something other than a string instrument. The violin and its family are not kind to those who are a little tone deaf. Since there are no frets like on the guitar, it is not as forgiving as many other instruments. The piano, however, is a great choice for those who are serious about learning an instrument and learning about the culture and history of classical music. If you decide to learn the piano, you cannot escape the classic music of Beethoven and Mozart. It can definitely be thoroughly impressive when classics are played well though and the piano definitely represents that kind of music flawlessly.
Once you have chosen an instrument that strums to your heart as well, you should still shop around instead of going to a music store and getting the first pretty Fender or Yamaha you see. Depending on the instrument, they can cost a pretty penny. You can buy musical instruments in used condition as well which is a great idea since you might still change your mind after a month of tiresome practice. Shopping at garage sales or thrift stores can get you want you want at a fraction of the price. And you can always get that Yamaha baby grand when you can at least play Beethoven’s fifth without missing a note.
Another option is to go to an online musical instrument store. These places have great deals on certain instruments and you just have to be at the right place at the right time to get a fantastic violin for half off. So if you are just starting to learn an instrument, it doesn’t take a lot of money to get started. If you stick to it, you will be rewarded.
