Wynton Marsalis 5et Special Guest Francesco Cafiso Playing Minor Swing By Django Reinhardt
Live at Pescara Jazz Festival 2011 Wynton Marsalis Tpt Francesco Cafiso AltoSax Dan Nimmer Piano Carlos Enriquez DoubleBass Ali Jackson Drums Francesco Cafiso (Vittoria May 24 1989 ) One of the most precocious talents in the history of jazz. When he was barely nine years old Francesco took his first steps, working with internationally famous musicians. Meeting Wynton Marsalis in Pescara at the jazz Festival held on July 2002 was a decisive moment for Francesco’s career. Amazed by Francesco’s qualities, Marsalis took him along with his septet on his European tour 2003, where Francesco performed in prestigious theatres in the largest cities in Europe. From that moment on, Francesco went through a series of important experiences both in Italy and abroad. He won various important prizes: the Massimo Urbani National Award in Urbisaglia, the EuroJazz Award in Lecco, the International Jazz Festivals Organization Award in New York, the World Saxophone Competition in London, the Django d’Or in Rome and many others. In order to improve his English, but most of all, in order to experience new musical styles and genres, Francesco went to New Orleans where he played with Ellis Marsalis, Jason Marsalis, Thadeus Richard, Bob Franch, Maurice Brown and many other important local musicians while taking special lessons from Alvin Batiste. In 2005 the Swing Journal, the authoritative Japanese jazz music magazine, confers him the New Stars Award, prize reserved to the emergent foreign talents …

An amazing jazz-swing playing band on the streets of New Orleans, LA.

Playing Jazz Guitar
Posted: Apr 29, 2006 |Comments: 0
When a person knows the basics of playing the guitar, it is quite easy to play music from various genres. Many people start in one genre before moving on to another. A good example is Bach who composed classical music the traditional way then later improvised it creating something unique for the audience to appreciate.
Playing guitar jazz is also like that. It can be improvised and/or combined with other musical genres. By listening to the notes and a little practice, the people who hear it will simply love it.
The same thing can happen when playing the guitar. A person can start by learning a certain song the way is it commonly played; then when he understands the rhythm he can determine where slight changes can be made, how it can be refined and/or turned into a jazz rendition.
Jazz music is made up of 4 beats to a measure. This is called syncopation which is very different from classical music that is made up of half beats. By learning how to play each of these notes and with a lot of practice, you will be able to get used to the rhythm.
Jazz guitars are different from traditional guitars because the wood used is a lighter material and the strings are set much lower making it faster to play. For the person to play like other guitarists, it is advisable to buy the right guitar for the part.
Another way of learning how to play jazz is by listening to some of the greatest jazz musicians. Some of the best are Ella Fitzgerald, Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong and David Benoit. By buying the albums and listening to how each of these people play and sing, you will get into the rhythm and be playing like the experts in a short time.
Since the music is quite different, practicing the various notes will help. One can start with a C note. This should be done repeatedly while the left hand is moving on the chromatic scale. For a better feel, the E flat can be added until one has reached the blue scale.
Learning how to play jazz music will take some time. The important thing to make it successful is being able to hear each part of the song. If a person is serious about switching genre’s, then he must devote a lot of time and effort to get it right.

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/ – Playing A Stringed Musical Instrument
Nothing is as beautiful as the sound of a nicely played violin. I find that this is the most pleasing string musical instrument for my tastes. The notes appear to cry and nearly talk to me when a violinist plays a beautiful piece. I can’t help thinking about the classic comedy Young Frankenstein whenever I hear this actual stringed musical instrument.
What makes these instruments so amazing is that every one is a one off.
The guitar appeals to the yonger musicians. Many of us love the sound of the electric guitar because there is such power and emotion behind the notes. A really good guitarist is one of the most exciting individuals you would hope to ever meet. This stringed musical instrument is certain to be around for a considerable time to come.
The guitar seemed to reverberate a spell on the fans that can still be heard today.
Ironically, my favorite Stevie Ray Vaughn song is Life by the Drop. There is something haunting about the tune and something moving about the words.
The acoustic guitar produces a totally different sound than its electrical counterpart. However , I find that the acoustic song is the most appealing although I could be a giant fan of Stevie Ray Vaughn’s mastery of the electrical guitar.
A banjo can express an off-the-cuff easy going feel although Joe Brown’s heart rending version of “I’ll see you in my dreams” at the memorial concert for George Harrison still brings tears to my eyes. Naturally, there is always the heavy, deep sound of the bass too.
I love all of these great producers of tunes but none can touch the endearing violin. The violin remains my favourite stringed instrument. I only wish that I had a chance to hear Stevie Ray Vaughn play the violin. I know that he’d have done a magnificent job.

Playing A Stringed Musical Instrument
Playing A Stringed Musical Instrument
There is nothing as attractive as the sound of a nicely played violin. I find this is the most pleasing string musical instrument for my tastes. The notes appear to cry and almost talk when a violinist plays a beautiful piece. I think about the classic comedy Young Frankenstein whenever I hear this actual instrument.
The violin is just one of many stringed instruments in circulation. What makes them so excellent is that each one is one of a kind. They each make sounds that are beyond compare. When considering music you are bound to get a stringed instrument that appeals to you.
The guitar is a modern classic. Many of us appreciate the sound of the electric guitar because there is such power and emotion behind the notes. An excellent good guitarist is one of the most interesting individuals you would hope to ever meet.
The electric guitar hasn’t truly lost its appeal, but I haven’t heard anyone that could play this instrument quite like Stevie Ray Vaughn. From what I’ve read he used guitar strings that were coarser and thicker grade than the average.
There’s something haunting about the tune and something moving about the words. The peculiar thing about this being my personal number one is that I understand that this is the sole song that was originally recorded acoustically.
The acoustic guitar produces quite a different sound than its electric counterpart. However , I find that the acoustic song is the most attractive even though I am probably a big fan of Stevie Ray Vaughn’s mastery of the electrical guitar.
No matter what your taste or mood in music you can express yourself thru a string musical instrument. A banjo would normally express an informal happy-go-lucky feel although Joe Brown’s rendition of “I’ll see you in my dreams” at the memorial concert for George Harrison still brings tears to my eyes. Naturally, there is always the heavy, deep sound of the bass as well .
The violin is still my favourite string musical instrument. I only wish that I had a chance to hear Stevie Ray Vaughn play the violin. I know that he would have done a magnificent job.
