Lou Reed – Street Hassle (complete music video)
video about this amazing rock opera written in 1978 by the best living rock songwriter, the NYC man Lou Reed. The song is divided into three parts (Walzing Matilda, Street Hassle, Slip Away), which have all the same music structure that meets first the orchestra, then acoustic guitars and rock bass guitars, and at the end the prayer of a penitent man, made of tears.. “Love has gone away and there’s no one here now And there’s nothing left to say but oh how I miss him, baby Ah baby, come on and slip away come on baby, why don’t you slip away..” the Lou’s masterpiece.

Comfortably Numb from Pink Floyd ‘s album The Wall. Pink Floyd Comfortably Numb was recorded live for our first promo DVD. Comfortably Numb was written by Gilmour, while Waters contributed the lyrics. Apparently, the Comfortably Numb lyrics came from Roger Waters’ experience when he was injected with tranquillizers for stomach pain. Pink Floyd – Comfortably Numb lyrics Hello? Is there anybody in there? Just nod if you can hear me. Is there anyone home? Come on, Come on, Come on, now, I hear you’re feeling down. Well, I can ease your pain Get you on your feet again. Relax. I’ll need some information first. Just the basic facts. Can you show me where it hurts? There is no pain you are receding A distant ship’s smoke on the horizon. You are only coming through in waves. Your lips move but I can’t hear what you’re saying. When I was a child I had a fever, my hands felt just like two balloons. Now I’ve got that feeling once again I can’t explain, you would not understand This is not how I am. I have become comfortably numb. (solo) I have become comfortably numb. OK Just a little pin prick. There’ll be no more aaaaaaaaah! But you may feel a little sick. Can you stand up? I do believe it’s working, good. That’ll …

Roky Erickson – Documentary (Part 1 of 3)
Legendary rock n roll pioneer Roger Kynard “Roky” Erickson hails from Austin, Texas. He is, in the words of music writer Richie Unterberger, one of “the unknown heroes of rock and roll.” As singer, songwriter, and guitar player for the legendary Austin, TX band The 13th Floor Elevators, the first rock and roll band to describe their music as “psychedelic”, Roky had a profound impact on the San Francisco scene when the group traveled there in 1966. While bands such as The Grateful Dead and The Jefferson Airplane had the their roots in traditional acoustic folk music, the Elevators unique brand of heavy, hard-rocking electric blues pointed to a new direction for the music of the hippie generation. The Elevators only had one chart hit, the Roky-penned You’re Gonna Miss Me, but their influence was far reaching. REM, ZZ Top, Poi Dog Pondering, The Judybats, T-Bone Burnett, Julian Cope, The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Cramps, The Minutemen, Television, The Cynics, The Lyres, Teisco Del Rey, The Fuzztones and Radio Birdman have all either recorded or played live versions of Roky’s songs. In addition to these performers, Roky is an acknowledged influence on such diverse musicians as Robert Plant, Janis Joplin, Patti Smith, Henry Rollins, Mike Watt, Sonic Youth, The Butthole Surfers, Jon Spencer, The Damned, Red Krayola, Pere Ubu, and current indie hit-makers The White Stripes. His songs have appeared on the soundtracks to the movies High Fidelity, Drugstore Cowboy, Boys Don’t Cry …

Best Mariachi Music
Mariachi is a genre of music that originated in the State of Jalisco, in Western Mexico. It is an integration of stringed instruments highly influenced by the cultural impacts of the historical development of Western Mexico. Throughout the history of mariachi, musicians have experimented with brass, wind, and percussion instruments. In addition, sociohistorical factors have influenced the repertoire in terms of the performance of diverse regional song forms as well as the evolution of the performance attire. Mariachi is important to the study of Mexican music because, as an ensemble created during the colonial period, it found its essence during the postcolonial era, blossomed during the nationalist era, and made a global impact during contemporary times. Throughout this development, particularly since the nationalist era, mariachi music has become emblematic of Mexican music by appropriating various Mexican regional song forms, experimenting in popular radio programs, appearing in the first Mexican films, and performing during presidential campaigns (Loza 1993, Turino 2003, Sheehy 2005, de la Mora 2006, Jáuregui 2007). The term “Mariachi” is said to be an adaptation of the French word for marriage or wedding “mariage” as this type of musical formation used to play at such events. This traces from the 19th century during the reign of Maximilian I of Mexico (Archduke Maximilian of Austria) and the influence of Napoleon III over Mexico. The mariachi ensemble generally …

1st single from the album ‘FEEL THAT YOU OWN IT’ available now on iTunes itunes.apple.com Voted number 2 out of 100 Best Irish Songs of 2010 www.swearimnotpaul.com Theme tune on RTE 2FM Ad in 2010/11 A lively dance, rock beat, that portrays the aftermath of a night to forget… Video directed by Kevin Godley, assisted by Simon Keenan and edited by Eoin McDonagh. Shot in Grouse Lodge Studios. Special thanks to The Production Depot Ltd. Kevin Godley – ‘Working with Bipolar Empire was liberating. Great band, great song, no schedule, no time, no money. The shoot was fuelled by adrenaline and the germ of an idea – Shoot band with 6 cameras mounted to something that doesn’t exist yet. I like to put musicians in unfamiliar situations, and this was no exception. Each guy had to perform to 6 Flip cameras and iphones taped to a lash up multi – arm crucifix-like device made from bits of plumbing acquired at Woodies the day before. Dubbed ‘The Manycam’ I shot about 8 takes and went home with hand cramps, double vision and hours of God knows what on a hard drive… They probably went out partying. The result can be seen on You Tube. Go there right now to get your ears and eyes fried – in a good way’. KG
