  Singing sensation Nicki Minaj was spotted arriving in a stylish pink Bentley, a color that matched her hair, along with boyfriend Safaree. Nicki arrived for the 54th annual Grammy Awards nomination concert at the Nokia Theatre to announce musicians who will be competing for Record of the Year.

  Sniff ‘n’ the Tears is a British rock band perhaps best known for their 1978 song “Driver’s Seat”, a hit in many countries (including #15 on the American Billboard Hot 100 chart). The exception was the UK itself where a problem with EMI’s pressing plant meant that the single was not available following the band’s appearance on Top of the Pops and it peaked just outside the Top 40. Sniff ‘n’ The Tears are led by singer/songwriter Paul Roberts, the band’s sole constant member. Roberts, a noted painter, is also responsible for painting all of the band’s album covers.An early version of Sniff ‘n’ The Tears had been gigging in England as “Ashes of Moon” as early as 1973. They were unable to land a record deal, and the band’s singer/songwriter Paul Roberts decided to dissolve the group and move to France. A few years later, Ashes’ drummer Luigi Salvoni listened to some demos that Roberts had cut in about 1975. Hearing commercial potential in them, he contacted Roberts about reforming their musical partnership. Sniff ‘n’ The Tears subsequently debuted in 1977 as a six piece band, consisting of Paul Roberts (vocals, acoustic guitar), Loz Netto (guitars), Mick Dyche (guitars), Chris Birkin (bass), Alan Fealdman (keyboards), and Luigi Salvoni (drums & percussion).   GIPSY KINGS is a group of Spanish-language musicians from Arles and Montpellier, France. Although group members were born in France, their parents were mostly gitanos, Spanish Romani people who fled Catalonia during the 1930s Spanish Civil War, with the exception of Chico Bouchikhi who is of Moroccan and Algerian descent. They are known for bringing Rumba Catalana, a pop-oriented music distantly derived from traditional flamenco music, to worldwide audiences. Their music has a particular Rumba Flamenca style, with pop influences; many songs of the Gipsy Kings fit social dances, such as Salsa and Rumba. Their music has been described as a place where “Spanish flamenco and Romani rhapsody meet salsa funk”. Background The Gipsy Kings are largely responsible for bringing the joyful sounds of progressive pop-oriented flamenco to the world. The band started out in Arles, a village in southern France, during the ’70s when brothers Nicolas and Andre Reyes, the sons of renowned flamenco artist Jose Reyes, teamed up with their cousins Jacques, Maurice, and Tonino Baliardo, whose father is Manitas de Plata. They originally called themselves Los Reyes and started out as a Gypsy band traveling about playing weddings, festivals, and in the streets. Thanks a lot, Mikael, for your translation!!! “Sissel, when did you sing solo for the first time?” “I was 11 years old and it was in a talent show” “Did you win?” “Errhm…yes I did” “So when did your first album come out?” “It was made last summer and released last autumn (1986)” Sissel then tells that she always have loved singing, but that she never has had ambitions about being a famous celebrity. Therefor she is also still in school. Second year of business school. “So Monday it’s back to school?” “Yes, giggles” Sissel says that coming back to school is relaxing after having done performances. She wants to finish an education that has nothing to do with music. “How does one get a voice like yours, does it take a lot of practice?” “I don’t know, giggles, I just sing” Then Sebastian recounts how he saw Sissel in TV in Norway the year before and straight away wanted her to sing one of his songs. He send her a cassette with the song “Vårvise” and Sissel agreed to record it with him. They then talk about the song “Vårvise” (which Sebastian is said to have written especially for Sissel).
